Daily to Do’s

  • Get adequate sleep
  • Take Prenatal Vitamins
  • Consider taking a probiotic daily or eating a probiotic rich yogurt
  • Drink no more than 1 cup coffee/day
  • Eat diet full of diverse fruits, vegetables and lean proteins
  • Eat 60 grams of protein per day
  • Drink ½ to 1 gallon of water each day
  • Exercise at least 20 minutes/day
  • Do not consume alcohol, tobacco or recreational drugs
  • Pregnancy is NOT eating for two. Consume only 300 extra calories/day which is the equivalent of half a sandwich.

When to Call/Go to the Hospital?

  • Vaginal bleeding
  • Leaking of fluid (water breaks)
  • Painful contractions
    • More than 4-6/hr if less than 37 weeks
    • Every 4-5 minutes if 37 weeks or above
  • Fetal movement less than 4-6 times/hr during active phases after 28 weeks
  • Headaches that doesn’t go away with Tylenol
